The Venue, Stocksbridge, 26th April
" This band routinely amazes me, but the show on April 26th at The Venue truly made me realize just how incredible these guys are. The Rumble Band have a very unique sound to begin with. For me, what sets them apart from the tons of bands I see every month is that not only are they amazingly talented as musicians, but more importantly, they are performers. While each of the musicians is uniquely talented in his own craft, when they are together as a group their combined talents create something unparalleled. I have seen very few bands EVER that can compare to the energy level displayed by The Rumble Band. It´s not as though I caught them on a good day. I´ve seen the band perform before and they consistently deliver the type of show that warrants the attention of the masses. The new and improved Venue in Stocksbridge had a welcoming, knowledgable and appreciative audience, who participated in making sure everyone had a night to remember"...... Daily Mail

The Ritz, Brighouse, Friday 29th February
With the venue sold-out weeks ago, we knew we were in for a good night. From the moment the 12-piece big band hit the stage to the introduction to Peter Gun and launched into Gimme Some Lovin and Sweet Soul Music, it was a romp through every classic song you've ever known and loved. They used enough energy to drain the national grid and played with such enthusiasm and such skilful musicianship that even the most worn-out standard was given a new lease of life.A stream of Soul, and Motown classics just tumbled from the stage, with rarely a gap between them for the band or the audience to draw breath. The band and audience were there to have a great time, and nobody went home disappointed. An outstanding night to remember for a long time. See you all there in June

Winterton Rangers, Saturday 8th December
The Rumble Band have an arsenal of secret weapons; a bellowing, charismatic lead singer, female backing singers who behave like devils and sing like angels, a rock-solid rhythm section and a 5-piece horn section that packs more brass than Lilly Savage. Think Wilson Picket, Otis, Aretha and Marvin all jamming under the influence of laughing gas and you have a
guaranteed floor-filler.This was more was than just a live concert...........this is a soul sensation!

The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes, Saturday 22nd September
The news had already spread around....
There was an air of anticipation in the house when The Rumble took to the stage, starting gently with the opening chords which would lead to a wall of sound filling the concert room. And then the crowd exploded with a welcome roar, cries and screams reaching as high up as the ceiling...The audience were packed in tight on the dancefloor as well as the balconies. No hesitation..from the opening intro. the audience danced, swayed, clapped and cheered to the soulful renditions of all the classics the band had to offer. This night, the band were treated to one of the best audiences in this area for a long time and deservedly so...
Thanks to everyone who took part and hopefully see you all in December

The Ritz, Brighouse, Friday 31st August
Every gig with the Rumble Band is party time, but at the Ritz the mood was particularly infectious. Indeed it was difficult to know who was enjoying it most, the audience or the band. Lead singer, the charismatic Alan Scorer, was in really energetic form, as indeed was every one of the 13 people, singers and musicians, packed on to the stage. They rocked their way through a fast-running set of non-stop soul standards - Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Aretha Franklin etc - driven by a five-piece horn section who danced, ducked, dived, and sang along with yet another sell out crowd. A big thank you to an old member of the band, John Biggs for standing in on tenor sax. An absolutely brilliant night! see you all in November on our return to the best Northern Soul venue around.

Willerby Manor Hotel, Hull, Saturday May 5th
The Charity event "Walk with Grace" held at Willerby Manor was a great success. Grace suffers from cerebral palsy and the money raised will help to send her to a specialist hospital in Europe. On the night almost £20,000 pounds was raised.
From the outset, the band gave a brilliant performance that could not be faulted. A superb repertoire coupled with excellent delivery ensured the audience, including special guests, the Deputy Prime Minister, John and Pauline Prescott, stayed on the dance floor for the whole night. A late call to Lisa George, one of the bands previous vocalists, enabled us to be at full strength for this prestigous occassion.Thank you to all those who took part.

What a fantastic way to celebrate our 21st Anniversary! The Gardens was packed once again for the return of The Rumble Band to their spiritual home for this special Show to mark our 21st year together. The Band welcomed back on old friend from the original 1985 line -up: Mr. Richard Pardy on Baritone Sax. It was as if he'd never been away. A great performance from Richard, and from the rest of the Band who once again gave their all to their home crowd. A few more new songs were added to the Show tonight, and the huge crowd again enjoyed them just as much as the old favourites. Some great movers were to be seen on the dance-floor, which was heaving from the moment the Band hit the stage, to the last note of the last song.
We appreciate the support & the reception we always get from the Cleethorpes audiences, thank you all for making it a memorable night for The Rumble Band. We will be back at The Gardens to see out 2006 & bring in 2007 with you all.

Ritz Ballroom ,Brighouse Fri 28th April
Another great night in West Yorks for our 2nd visit of the year to The Ritz. The famous Canadian Sprung dancefloor was soon jumping as the Band hit the stage. The crowd love their Soul Music at Brighouse and The Rumble Band did not disappoint them!
On a slightly sadder note, this Show marked the final appearance of 2 of our fabulous female vocalists: Miss Tina Letter & Miss Helen Rex, who have both decided to move on to pastures new. All of us in The Band will miss them very much, and we wish them both every success in the future. Watch this space for details of the 2 new female vocalists, and also for details of our new drummer Mr Ray Wilson, who made his debut with The Rumble Band at tonights' Show. Ritz Ballroom Brighouse
Friday 27th January 2006
This must be a record as the Band played to their 20th "Full House" show at the Ritz Ballroom. And what a show it was. Frontman Alan Scorer, making his first full debut, was truly exceptional as he led the Band through one and half hours of scintilating soul sounds that had the audience dancing their socks off. The Ritz Ballroom was packed to the rafters and no-one sat down for long once the Band started. Another superb performance from the Rumble Band and as always the Band thank the very knowledgeable Brighouse crowd for their tremendous support. The good news is that come April we can all do it again. Just make sure you get your ticket early.

Boxing night, Monday 26th December 2005 Scunthorpe Baths.
What an incredible night as the Scunthorpe soul fans joined the Band in this Christmas Bash. This was the Bands 40th appearance at the Baths and as always the Band gave it their all and the audience went wild. The brass section were superb as they played and danced through the set. The rhythm section were fab and unbelievably tight as they formed the groove for each song and the vocal section were as always first class. Talking of vocals this was Dave Ranshaw's last show with the Band and the Scunthorpe audience showed their appreciation with an incredible ovation as Dave left the stage for the last time. Front man Allan Scorer was hailed as a homecoming hero (he was born in Scunny you know) and really took the crowd by storm with his soulful vocals and energetic shapes.
So the end of a very successful year for the Band and the start of a further chapter in the journey of this incredible musical outfit.
Thanks to all our fans for your superb support and we will see you all in 2006.

The Rumble Band gave a fantastic Show, again with our new frontman Mr Allan Scorer sharing Lead Vocal duties with Soul Legend, Mr Dave Ranshaw.
It was good to be back at The Beachy & to see so many people there, friends old & new. Thanks to everyone who was there, and we'll see you all back there in December.

SPECIAL ONE-OFF EVENT!!!
CHARITY FUND-RAISER & THANK-YOU EVENT FROM THE RUMBLE BAND.
In our 20th Anniversary year, we wanted to do something a little different, play somewhere that we haven't played before, and give people a chance to see us in a smaller, more intimate setting. So, on the evening of Sunday 6th March 2005, we will be performing a special one hour Show at The Trawl, Yarborough Road, Grimsby. The purpose of this event is two-fold- firstly,we wanted to say thank you to the people of Grimsby & Cleethorpes for their fantastic support over the last 20 years, and secondly, we wanted to use the event as a means of raising funds for a local Charity. There are of course many good causes, and we wish we could help every one, but The Band have chosen The St. Andrews Childrens Hospice as their Charity for this year. There will be a small door charge, and numbers are limited so entry will be on a strictly first come, first served basis. Proceeds will go to The St Andrews Childrens Hospice, and volunteers from The Hospice will be at the event to take donations, so please come along and give generously to support the Childrens Hospice, which does such fantastic work. Please contact The Trawl on 01472 343372 for more information.
Thank you.

In 1985, the year of Live Aid, the Grimsby Telegraph asked if The Rumble Band would re-form for a special one-off Live Aid Show they were organizing. The Band DID re-form, and along with many other local Bands, performed at The Winter Gardens, Cleethorpes in September 1985. The reaction to the re-formed Rumble Band was so great, that they decided to carry on, and here we are - this year 2005, marks our 20th anniversary since re-forming. 20 fantastic years during which time The Rumble Band have performed their Show to sell-out crowds the length & breadth of the Country.
To mark our 20th Anniversary, there will be a special Show to be held on Saturday September 17th 2005, back at The Winter Gardens (See Gig Diary for details). There will also be other special events to be held throughout the year, and details will be put on the website as soon as possible.

A fantastic night was had by all as The Rumble Band were back at one of their favourite venues for the now traditional Boxing Night Rumble at The Baths Hall Scunthorpe. It was as if we'd never been away! The two Rumble Brother look-alikes were at the front again, and the huge crowd sang & danced well past The Midnight Hour.
We'd like to say thank you to all of our Scunthorpe fans for their wonderful support, and also to management & staff of Right Angle Entertainments.

MUSICAL LEGENDS VISIT THE RUMBLE BAND WEBSITE!!
If you take a look at the recent guestbook entries, you will see a couple of entries from 2 true legends of the music world.
Firstly, we have an entry from Mr. Bob Babbitt. Bob is the bass player with the truly legendary Funk Brothers, who were the group of musicians who played on all of the Detroit Motown hits of the 60's & 70's. Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves, Edwin Starr, The Four Tops- all of the top Motown names owe a debt to the band of musicians who played on all of those hits we know & love. The names of the artistes Bob has worked with and recordings he has played on are too numerous to list & we are truly honoured that Bob took the time to visit our site. For more information on Bob & rest of The Funk Brothers, see www.bobbabbitt.com
Then we also have an entry from another legend: Mr. Liberty Devitto. Liberty has been Billy Joel's drummer for over 30 years, touring with him and also recording those multi-million selling albums & Grammy award winning songs. As well as being Billy Joel's drummer of choice, Liberty has also worked with Paul McCartney, Elton John, Mick Jagger and many others too numerous to mention. Again we are deeply honoured that Liberty has taken the time to visit our site. For more information on Liberty Devitto, visit www.libertydevitto.com
Huge thanks to them both from all of us in The Rumble Band

Another sell-out Show for the first visit of 2004 by The Rumble Band to The Ritz, and once again a great night was had by all. Despite suffering from laryngitis, Dave managed to get through the Show, with a little help from the crowd ,who by the way were in fine voice, and certainly WERE louder than Dave's bathroom carpet!!
Thanks to Alan on the decks, and to all the Yorkshire Rumble fans, we'll look forward to seeing you again later in the year.

Rumble for Artie at The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes 14th February 2004.
Well, we didn't think the old place could hold so many people!! A fabulous night was had by all at The Beachcomber when The Rumble Band performed their Show to raise funds for a very deserving cause: The Artie White Foundation. The room was bursting at the seams, and it made for a great night out for all who were there. The crowd were fantastic & sung their hearts out to every song.
Thanks to The Beachcomber, Dave Boylen & all the members of The Artie White Foundation Committee for allowing us to play. A lot of money was raised for The Foundation, so thank you to all of you for making it such a memorable St. Valentine's night.

New Years Eve, December 31st 2003 Beachcomber, Cleethorpes.
Is there a better way to see out the old year & welcome in the new? A packed house at The Beachcomber Cleethorpes didn't think so as The Rumble Band took to the stage for their final Show of 2003.. The Band were absolutely red hot and soon had the large crowd moving as one to the fantastic sound of Soul. 2003 went, and 2004 came in & they were still going strong! A mention must go to our special guests, Brian & Gaye from Australia & a big thank you from The Rumble Band to all Rumble fans wherever you are, thank you for your support during 2003, Happy New Year to you all, and see you all somewhere in 2004.

Boxing Night Friday 26th December 2003 Baths Hall Scunthorpe.
Well ,we saw the old place off with a bang! The final Rumble Band Show ever at The Baths Hall Scunthorpe proved to be one of our best. The fantastic audience soon had the dance floor heaving, and they were in good voice, singing along with all their favourite Rumble songs.
We're very sad that North Lincolnshire Council have found it necessary to close the place, it holds some great memories for The Rumble Band. We'd like to thank everyone in the Scunthorpe area for their fantastic support over these many years and we hope to see you all again somewhere very soon. Thank you.

News has reached us which means that this year's Boxing Night Rumble at The Baths Hall, Scunthorpe will be our last. This is due to North Lincolnshire Council deciding to close The Baths Hall in Spring 2004. Scunthorpe area crowds have always given The Band a fantastic reception over the years that we've been coming to The Baths, and we hope we can say goodbye to the old place with a fantastic Show for you all.
On a lighter note, the New Years Eve Rumble Party at The Beachcomber Cleethorpes is already sold out!! Apply to The Beachcomber direct for any last minute cancellation tickets. This year, our Special Guest is Mr. Paul Reason as Robbie Williams. Look forward to seeing you all there!

The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes Saturday 27th September 2003.
'The Show Must Go On' is the old showbiz saying, and so it did for The Rumble Band at their home venue. Despite the loss of Band Musical Director & keyboard player Pete Clarke, who was taken ill with food poisoning just hours before the Show, The Rumble Band took to the stage as a 12 piece. With a few alterations to the Show, Dave soon had the packed house eating out of the palm of his hand, and they were singing along with all their usual style. Also a rare outing to the front of the stage for The Rumble powerhouse drummer Chip Hanley who was summoned by Dave to show the crowd the latest fashion in drummers footwear!!
All in all a most eventful night but a great one nevertheless!
Looking forward to the next one at The Beachy in November already. See you there!
Get well soon Pete!

A hectic week for The Rumble Band this week, and our final visit of the year to The Ritz. The 'Sold Out' signs had been up for weeks, and those lucky enough to have got their tickets were not disappointed as The Rumble Band once again gave a fantastic performance. The Band have been coming to The Ritz now for over 10 years, and each time we play it's a real joy to be amongst Soul Fans of the highest calibre. They really make us feel welcome. Thanks to everyone & we'll see you again in 2004!

There's no stopping our much travelled Rumble Band frontman, Mr. Dave Ranshaw. Not content with appearing on the West End stage last year, during his recent tour of the U.S with his wife, Dave had the opportunity to vist the world famous Sun Studio in Memphis, billed as 'The Birthplace of Rock & Roll'.! Dave wanted to claim his place alongside such legends as Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash & all the other greats who have recorded at Sun over the years, so he went in, handed over a fistful of dollars (Good title for a film?) & cut a record in the same way that an 18 year old called Elvis Presley did back in the 50's. So the next time you see Dave giving his all at the front of the stage, just think: This man has been in the footsteps of the Legends!

The Beachcomber Cleethorpes 12th July 2003.
The hottest night of the year in more ways than one!! On a hot & steamy Summer night The Rumble Band were back home again & again a great time was had by the packed house. Many new faces amongst the crowd, but they joined in as if they had been Rumble fans for years!
A lot of new songs given their first public playing in a Rumble set, but they went down just as well with the hot crowd as the old favourite Rumble tracks.
Thanks again to all who were there & we look forward to seeing you again next time

The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes. 26th April 2003.
The Rumble Band were back 'home' after what seemed an age away from their favourite venue. The Cleethorpes crowd were also back and in great numbers: another full house!!
Rumble hats & shades were much in evidence amongst the crowd as they joined in, singing their hearts out along with Dave & the girls & it was a great sight to see the massive crowd moving as one as they danced the night away! Another night to remember!
Thank you all & see you next time!

Once again, the Yorkshire Soul crowd were out in force for another sell-out show by The Rumble Band. The Rumble Bands' first show of 2003 was to their home crowd at The Beachcomber Cleethorpes, as a thank you for the fantastic support we always get from the home audience, and they didn't let us down at all this time. With a little coaxing from Dave, the audience soon came alive, and before they knew it, the show was over, and the cries for more were ringing out as the Band left the stage. Once again, a huge thank you to all who made the effort to be there & we'll look forward to seeing you all again soon!

New Years Eve, December 31st 2002. The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes.
"What a fantastic night!! This is one helluva Band!!" So said Mr. Popsi Williams as Barry White from TV's "Stars In Their Eyes", after guesting with The Rumble Band on a couple of numbers, and who are we to disagree!!
2002 was seen off in style, and 2003 was brought in with a bang, as The Rumble Band gave their all to a huge & enthusiastic audience. The Band have never been in finer form, and it showed with a slick performance that kept the crowd spellbound way past "The Midnight Hour"!
A special mention must go to Lisa, who despite feeling quite ill, put out a fantastic performance.
The Rumble Band would like to thank all of their fans for the wonderful support they have given us during 2002. We look forward to seeing you all in 2003, and we wish each & everyone of you, a happy & prosperous New Year.
Thank you all!!

And a special thank you to the person who stole the hat from our merchandising display case! Get in touch with us, and we'll send you one without the hole in the top where you ripped it from its mounting!

The Soul afficianados were out in force on Friday night at The Ritz, Brighouse. Another full house yet again for the much anticipated performance by The Rumble Band, and once again The Band didn't dissapoint. This knowledgable Soul crowd had been warmed up to perfection by some great classic sounds from Alan on the decks, and the Rumble Band were greeted by a rapturous reception, which carried on through the whole show and didn't stop until the last note.
The Band would like to thank all who came & made it such a memorable evening, and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2003.

Nov. 9th 2002 Beachcomber Cleethorpes.
An absolutely storming show from The Rumble Band to another full house at The Beachcomber. The Band were really slick & tight, and the audience played their part- they were up for a good time & they got one!! The Band were into the groove right from the start- crisp drumming, pumping bass, solid brass, hot licks from the guitar, funky keyboards, and to top it all those smooth soul vocals from Dave & The Girls. The audience were spellbound for 2 solid hours!!
Thanks to all who were there & to those who weren't- see you at the next one!!
Thank you all for your support.

News hot off the press Rumble fans. Now it's not just our female vocalists who have performed on the West End stage! Our very own Rumble Band Frontman , Mr Soul himself, the One & Only Mr. Dave Ranshaw has appeared live on stage at The Shaftsbury Theatre in the heart of Londons' West End. Taking a well earned break in the capital, Dave & his wife took the opportunity to go & see the musical "125th Street", which is set around the legendary Apollo Theatre in New York where all the Soul greats have performed over the years.
During the interval, Dave was invited onto the stage, where he stunned the audience of over 1000 with his acapella version of one of his all time favourite Soul classics "Long After Tonight's All Over". Although the audience were reluctant to let him leave the stage, the show had to carry on without him!!
Watch out for the next series of "Stars inTheir Eyes"...... "Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be...........Dave Ranshaw from The Rumble Band!!!"
